We’re delighted to announce the return of one of Britain’s best-loved broadcasters and authors - John Sergeant - in An Audience With John Sergeant, coming to theatres across the UK this year.
A household name and consistently one of Clive Conway Productions’ most popular speakers, John has been away from our live circuit for a few years – and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him back.
An Audience with John Sergeant offers a rare chance to hear from a man who has had a front-row seat at the heart of British political life, and who brings both insight and humour to everything he does.
Best known for his distinguished career as Chief Political Correspondent for the BBC and later as Political Editor of ITN, John’s journalistic legacy includes in-depth interviews with major political figures including Margaret Thatcher, John Major, and Tony Blair. His calm, witty reporting style and incisive commentary made him a trusted voice in British news for decades.
But John’s talents don’t stop at Westminster. In recent years, he’s returned to his first love - light entertainment – becoming a familiar face on The One Show, QI, Room 101, Have I Got News For You, and The News Quiz.
And of course, who could forget his unforgettable run on Strictly Come Dancing? Despite regularly landing at the bottom of the leaderboard, John’s charm and humour kept him in the competition week after week. As he famously put it:
“The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me that would be a joke too far.”

John has also fronted a number of well-received documentaries, including John Sergeant’s Tourist Trail, Tracks of Empire (exploring India’s railways), and Britain’s First Photo Album, a fascinating look at the work of pioneering photographer Francis Frith.
Whether you’re a politics buff, a Strictly fan, or just someone who enjoys a great evening of storytelling and insight – An Audience with John Sergeant promises warmth, wit, and wisdom in equal measure.
