In 2026, broadcaster and author Jules Hudson celebrates three decades in the TV business, both behind and in front of the camera. For nearly twenty years he has been the popular face of the BBC's multi award-winning rural property hit Escape to the Country, and for over a decade was a regular on Countryfile.

Originally a practising field archaeologist, Jules' passion for the past and military history has led to credits which include Dig 1940, How We Won the War and Dive WW2, all for the BBC. He has also authored three books: Walled Gardens, The Escape to the Country Handbook and, this year, an autobiography, Wild at Heart: My Journey to a Country Life.

He currently co-hosts On the Farm for Channel 5 alongside Helen Skelton and JB Gill, and with farmers Rob and Dave Nicholson has helped land four TV Choice awards since the brand launched in 2020. Jules is also a member of the Naval Reserve, and lives with his wife and son in the Wye Valley of Herefordshire, from where he also designs and makes furniture. He remains a visible, popular and staunch champion of Britain's countryside and rural affairs.
