Broadcaster and journalist Dame Jenni Murray, best known as a longtime presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, will be among guest speakers at a conference celebrating 30 years of Fostering Transformed.
The event, at the University of Kent on Thursday 14th September, is organised in partnership with the Nationwide Association of Fostering Providers.
It will examine the massive changes since September 1987 when the first independent fostering organisations were developed and will be aimed at people from both the public and private sectors who are interested or involved in fostering in any way.
In addition to Jenni Murray speakers will include experienced foster parents as well as those who have been fostered, experts in child therapy, social care and education.
Key players in the fostering world together with those involved in research and media studies will be examining salient points from the past and present to prepare for the future.
