Wildlife presenter Kate Humble: thinking on her feet

By: stagedoorscribbler - November 19, 2018

Kate Humble

Join wildlife presenter Kate Humble for a fascinating talk about her new book - Thinking on my Feet - as well as her life working with wildlife, the far flung places that this has taken her to and the inspiring people she has met on her travels.

An Audience with Kate Humble is at Cumnock Town Hall tonight (Monday 19th November) and The Capitol in Horsham on Friday 30th November.

It’s a great evening which also offers audiences a unique chance to go 'behind the camera' as Kate describes how the programmes are made along with some lovely anecdotes about  filming.

There’s been a lot of it. The second series of Kate's popular BBC programme Back to the Land which has just aired is the latest in a long line of programmes Kate has presented for the BBC. These include Springwatch and Autumn Watch, Wild Shepherdess, Yellowstone: Wildest Winter to Blazing Summer, Curious Creatures and Extreme Wives with Kate Humble.

For nature lovers she lives the dream too. In 2007 she and her husband Ludo moved to a smallholding in Wales and in 2011 set up Humble by Nature a rural skills school on a working farm in the Wye Valley. They live with a variety of feathered and furry livestock and three dogs.

Meanwhile her book Thinking on My Feet tells the story of Kate’s walking year – shining a light on the mood-lifting, idea-inspiring benefits of her daily walks (and runs) throughout a single year.  It also describes the  feelings, impressions  and perspective on life that only a journey on foot can give. As well as being a farmer, writer, activist, entrepreneur and leading TV presenter, Kate is an engaging speaker and a thoughtful and talented writer. Yoiu can pick up a personal signed copy at her speaking events.
