The Rev bows out of Strictly but will be telling all on the CCP circuit
It was enormous fun while it lasted but alas the Rev Richard Cole’s two left feet meant is stay on BBC 1’s Strictly Come Dancing was predictably brief.
Last night the good Rev became the second celebrity to be sent home after dance-off against TV chef Simon Rimmer. The Sunday Brunch presenter and his professional portent Karen Clifton cooked up some dance floor moves that left the Rev and his partner Dianne Buswell very much in second place.
Accepting the inevitable, Richard told viewers that his time on the show had been “completely joyous”. He just make one crucial mistake.
"I forgot to reckon into my strategy that I can’t actually dance!”, he admitted. On the positive side the rather portly 55-year-old one-time pop star turned clergyman has lost a stone in weight in a month.
The other good news is that Richard will be bringing a new An Audience With Richard Coles show to the Clive Conway circuit recounting his experiences both on the dance floor and backstage with the stars. Watch out for An Audience with Rev Richard Coles playing a venue near you.
