Pop Star to Priest: Rev Richard Coles returns to Curtain Up

By: stagedoorscribbler - November 16, 2020

Rev Richard Coles

The success of our new series of online shows continues. Curtain Up,  presented by Clive Conway Productions and Iconic Media Solutions, brings some of Britain’s best loved faces into people’s homes this autumn. It is the perfect antidote to this year of dark theatres.
The series, launched last month with actor, wit and raconteur Gyles Brandreth and proved such a big hit that not only has Gyles already made a return appearance but this week see another chance to see Rev Richard Coles too.
With Curtain Up shows streaming tomorrow (Tuesday 17th November) and Friday (20th November) you will find Richard pondering his extraordinary journey from 1980s pop star to Church of England priest, radio broadcaster and TV personality.
His story is as real as it is unlikely. During the talk he will explain the curious circumstances that took him from the euphoria and mayhem of being Top of the Pops with Jimmy Somerville as a member of The Communards to the ordained Church of England priest he is today.
Of course the showman is still there which is why most people know Richard as both the host of BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live and a frequent guest and presenter on countless other radio and TV shows that have included Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Masterchef.
Tickets are available via a unique access link accessible from all mobile, IOS and desktop devices. Book now:
And there’s more where that came from.  With so many theatres currently closed Clive Conway Productions and Iconic Media Solutions are proud to present a season of ‘Curtain Up!’ shows bringing some of Britain’s most loved faces into your homes this Autumn.
Future contributors include  historians Lucy Worsley and Dan Cruickshank while shows have already been screened  featuring Richard, the Antiques Roadshow’s Paul Atterbury and the aforementioned Gyles Brandreth,.
