Kit and McConnel - 'naughty and pin sharp' comedy - the Countess of Canarvon
Kit and McConnell - the reincarnation of ever-popular comedy act Kit and the Widow - head for the Blake Theatre in Monmouth on Friday (15th March).
They are an eye-wateringly funny duo performing in the best tradition of Noel Coward, Tom Lehrer and Flanders & Swann.
Featuring the inimitable Kit Hesketh-Harvey on vocals and his long term fellow mirth-maker, James McConnel on piano, they are an act that shoukd not be missed.
Not only do they really know how work a crowd with a set featuring lots of audience participation but they even include a personalised songs tailored for every venue or festival .
Building on their previous incarnation as Kit and The Widow, they have enjoyed a forty-year-long career that has included three Olivier nominated West End productions, two Channel 4 TV specials and countless sell out shows.
As well as regular appearances at festivals and theatres up and down the country, they have played all of London's five-star hotels, much of the FTSE 100 Share Index, three prime ministers and (on various private occasions) practically all of the members of the Royal Family.
They have been lavished with praise both publicly and privately. Perhaps the comments of the Countess Canarvon following a private party at Highclere Castle (home of the fictional Downton Abbey) gives a taste of what’s in store. She wrote: “You are naughty, delightful and pin-sharp. Your customised birthday song absolutely made the party. The thank-you letters are just full of praise for you.”
