Festive choral celebrations and guest speakers at Le Manoir
The magnificent annual carol concert dinners at Raymond Blanc's beautiful Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons restaurant get underway this evening I(Monday 4th December). This opening event of the 2017 series of fine festive events features the outstanding Tenebrae Choir performing at the ancient church of St Mary adjacent to Blanc’s celebrated Michelin starred restaurant. Guest speaker will be Raymond Blanc himself.
As always each of the exclusive black-tie carol events starts with a Champagne Laurent-Perrier reception and is followed by a sumptuous four course dinner with accompanying wines, coffee and petit fours at this stunning restaurant set in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside.
Tomorrow (5th December) sees the Christ Church Cathedral Choir performing in in St Mary’s with guest speaker Oz Clarke and Wednesday (6th December) will feature the Trinity Boys Choir with actor Ian Lavender, best known as ‘stupid boy’ Private Pike in Dad’s Army, as guest speaker.
The festive evenings continue next week with three more choirs and special guests.
Notes on the Choirs: Tenebrae Choir has been hailed at one of the country’s most outstanding vocal ensembles and blends the passion of large cathedral choir with the precision of a chamber ensemble.
Christ Church Cathedral Choir was founded 500 years ago, is noted for its skill an d versatility and holds a distinct place in the great English Choral tradition.
Trinity Boys Choir features trebles performing a wide-ranging repertoire. The boys are well known for their work a number of well-known film soundtracks.
