Archbishop Desmond Tutu inducted into the South African Hall of Fame
Archbishop Desmond Tutu is due to be inducted into the South African Hall of Fame later this week. The honour will be bestowed at the inaugural Marketing Achievement Awards at Sun City on Thursday 27th June amid claims that veteran peace and social justice campaigner Tutu is one of the. Tutu, who has been described as one of the country’s most deserved Hall-of-Famers, will take his place alongside fellow Nobel Peace Laureate and anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela. Chair of the MAA Yvonne Johnstone spoke of the boost that an inspirational inductee like The Arch will give the event.
"We are extremely honoured to have Archbishop Tutu being inducted into the South African Hall of Fame… This contributes significantly to the stature of our event, and we could not have hoped for a better way to launch this initiative," she said.
"Excellence in marketing is central to the success of businesses, and successful businesses, in turn, contribute to overall economic empowerment and upliftment in South Africa," she added.
The Awards aims to become a prime networking event for marketers interested in creating a vibrant and empathy driven culture in South Africa.
